I’ve had a deep love and sense of nostalgia for rag rugs for as long as I can remember. My grandmother had them all over her little house, and when I think of my childhood, the scrappy multicolored stripes are always right there.

The following two-part tutorial will show you how to build your own loom (in any size) using simple tools and then how to weave a piece using fabric strips that can be used as a table runner, placemat, throw rug, even a bag panel or so much more.
